UNRWA Reports Dire Conditions for Displaced Families in Gaza Strip Due to Ongoing Conflict.

Gaza: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has reported that families in the Gaza Strip are enduring dire conditions due to repeated displacement, emphasizing the "urgent need for an immediate ceasefire." According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the UN agency highlighted in a post on X that in Deir al-Balah and throughout the Gaza Strip, families continue to face challenging circumstances. These families have been repeatedly displaced by ongoing shelling and are seeking refuge in crowded UNRWA schools and temporary shelters. They are also struggling to access basic necessities. The agency reiterated the "urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip" and stressed the importance of ensuring unhindered access to humanitarian aid to meet the growing needs of the population. The ongoing aggression since October 7, 2023, has displaced approximately two million of the Strip's 2.3 million Palestinian residents, creating tragic conditions marked by a severe shortage of food, water, and medicine. The spread of famine, particularly in the northern regions of the Gaza Strip, is a consequence of the continued aggression, which involves acts of genocide and starvation aimed at forcing citizens to migrate south.
