Gaza - Ma'an - The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said that "the Gaza Strip is on the verge of losing an entire generation of children" due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip since October 7. This was stated by Juliette Touma, Director of Media and Communications at UNRWA, in a post on 'X', where she explained that more than '600,000 children in Gaza have not been able to go to school since the start of the Israeli war.' She pointed out that a large number of schools were closed, and that UNRWA schools were turned into shelters for the displaced. "This means that if this war continues, we risk losing an entire generation of children," she added. She stressed that the time children are absent from school will make it difficult to compensate for their educational losses, calling for a ceasefire for the sake of these children.
