UNRWA _Our money is enough to last us until September

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that it has funds to continue work until next September. The Agency's Commissioner-General, Philippe Lazzarini, said in press statements: 'We worked tirelessly with partners to restore confidence in the Agency, after several countries suspended their funding following Israeli allegations in January that a number of UNRWA employees participated in the October 7 attack carried out by Hamas on Israel.' Lazzarini indicated that new pledges of funds would help ensure emergency operations until September. The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, appealed to donors to fund UNRWA, pointing out the absence of any alternative to it, despite Israeli criticism. Guterres warned at a donor conference that the suffering Palestinians would lose a 'vital lifeline' without UNRWA.
