The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) urged Friday to de-escalate immediately after a significant increase in hostilities on the border between Lebanon and the Israeli entity, following the heaviest Israeli airstrikes in nearly a year on areas in southern Lebanon. UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti said in a statement, "We are concerned about the increasing escalation across the Blue Line between Lebanon and the Israeli entity, and we urge all concerned parties to de-escalate immediately." She said that the past twelve hours have witnessed a significant escalation in hostilities across the Blue Line, and throughout its area of operations. Last Tuesday and Wednesday, several Lebanese regions witnessed two waves of simultaneous explosions of a large number of wireless communication devices, resulting in the deaths of 37 people and the injury of more than 3,400, which increased the escalation in southern Lebanon.
