UN Official Warns of Potential Genocide in West Bank

Jenin: The UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, warned of the possibility of Israel committing genocide in the West Bank similar to the one it committed in the Gaza Strip. This warning was issued amidst the ongoing aggression by Israeli occupation forces on the city of Jenin and its camp.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Albanese highlighted her concerns in a post on X, emphasizing that the crimes of genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinians could extend beyond Gaza if not halted. The situation in Jenin has been particularly dire, with reports indicating that the number of slain Palestinians has reached 10, including a child, and over 40 individuals have been injured due to the aggression.

Albanese's comments come at a time of heightened tensions and violence in the region. The international community continues to monitor the situation closely, as calls for intervention and peace negotiations grow louder. The recent developments have intensified discussions around human rights violations and the urgent need for a resolution to the ongoing conflict.
