Gaza - Ma'an - The Director of the Office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations said that the humanitarian support system in Gaza is almost completely collapsing and the risk of the conflict spreading to the region is increasing every day. He added that nothing justifies the collective punishment inflicted on the Palestinian people. He stressed that attacks targeting humanitarian work and health care facilities in the Gaza Strip continue. He pointed out that the West Bank is witnessing high levels of violence by settlers and Israeli forces. The Director of the Office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations pointed out that the confiscation of lands in the West Bank is a bullet in the heart of any chance for a two-state solution. He stressed: We need an immediate ceasefire and the unconditional release of all detainees. He said: The Palestinian prisoners who were arrested without any right must be released.
