GENEVA: The United Nations has strongly condemned recent statements by Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz, who threatened temporary evacuation of Palestinians from the cities of Jenin and Tulkarm in the northern West Bank. UN Human Rights Office spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani issued the condemnation during a press briefing in Geneva on Friday. Shamdasani stated that such remarks only exacerbate the already dire situation and could potentially encourage human rights violations. She expressed deep concern over Israel's recent escalation in the West Bank, highlighting the extensive military operations conducted by Israeli forces, which represent the most significant aggression since 2002. Shamdasani warned of the risk of worsening the already catastrophic conditions in the region. Source: Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA
