China's National Meteorological Center warned on Monday morning that Typhoon Jongdari, the ninth typhoon of the year, has appeared over the northwest Pacific Ocean. It is expected to bring gales to the country's eastern regions. Early today, the typhoon's center was over waters 435 kilometers off the east of Taipei, with maximum winds near the center of the typhoon reaching 18 meters per second. The Center said the typhoon will enter the East China Sea with a slight change in intensity and will gradually weaken after entering the Yellow Sea.
