Gaza City: An Israeli airstrike on the Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City, where the Abu Saif family was living after being displaced from their own house, claimed the lives of their 4-year-old twins.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Abu Saif family bid farewell to their twin daughters, Saba and Sana, who were killed in the shelling targeting their house as part of the ongoing aggression against the Strip. On a night marked by continuous airstrikes across Gaza, the Israeli military actions resulted in the deaths of numerous Palestinian citizens, primarily children and women, with hundreds more injured.
On Wednesday night, Saba and Sana were preparing for bed, unaware of the impending tragedy. The Israeli bombardment provided no opportunity for the family to escape, as their home was directly hit, collapsing on top of them. Emergency services rushed to the scene, transferring the injured to Al-Shifa Hospital, where silence fell as the two girls were pronounced dead.
In the morning, relatives and neighbors gathered at the hospital, bidding farewell to the twins wrapped in white blankets. A relative, present during the bombing, recounted the harrowing experience to the Turkish Anadolu Agency, questioning the targeting of their home, which had no militants or weapons.
Since October 7, 2023, the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has resulted in over 18,000 children killed and nearly 117,248 injured. Health authorities report that emergency services continue to face difficulties in reaching casualties due to targeted strikes on ambulance and civil defense crews.
