The Diyala Police Command announced the implementation of a security operation to search the villages and orchards of the Al-Waqf Basin, northeast of Baqubah. the governorate's Police Chief, Major General Alaa Gharib, told a correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) that joint forces from the Diyala Police, the Diyala Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces, and the Federal Police carried out a combing operation in the villages and orchards of Al-Mukhaisa within the Abu Sayda district sector to track down terrorist cells and organized crime gangs and implement arrest warrants against wanted persons, and seize unlicensed weapons. He added that the security operation, which comes to continue the momentum of operations and prevent the remnants of terrorism from finding a foothold in the region, resulted in the seizure of two caches for ISIS members.
