The Antiquities and Heritage Protection in Diwaniyah found two artifacts dating back to different eras. The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement: "In order to ensure full protection of archaeological sites in the governorate, the Antiquities and Heritage Protection detachments in Diwaniyah found during their inspection tours of archaeological sites in the Nippur archaeological site in Afak District, two artifacts consisting of (jars) dating back to different time periods, where the two pieces were properly handed over to the Antiquities Inspectorate in Diwaniyah."
