Turkish Minister of Customs and Trade, Omer Bolat, held a virtual conversation, on Wednesday, with UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Jonathan Reynolds, to discuss avenues for enhancing trade relations between the two countries. Turkish Anatolia News Agency (AA) quoted remarks of Bolat as saying that he discussed with Reynolds the goal, in terms of surpassing a trade volume of $20 billion by 2024, and the steps that should be taken to achieve this goal. The two parties conducted an evaluation of the processes related to the negotiations for the free trade agreement, due to be updated between Turkiye and the United Kingdom and agreed to begin negotiations in Ankara. The United Kingdom is the fifth-largest country in terms of the number of investments in Turkiye, with a direct investment of $8.3 billion. Source: Qatar News Agency
