Turkiye confirmed, Wednesday, that its decision to join the genocide case filed with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Israel underscores the significance prioritized by Turkiye to solve the Palestinian question within the framework of law and justice. Ankara is closely following up on the lawsuit filed by South Africa with the ICJ against Israel after the latter breached its obligations enshrined in the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide of 1948 (CPPCG), Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement. The statement added that following the comprehensive legal action that was taken in this regard, Turkiye's intervention statement was submitted to the court, as a legal measure since it is a state party to CPPCG, within the framework of Article 63 of the Statute of ICJ, stressing that human conscience and international law will ensure holding the Israeli officials to account.
