Turkish intelligence announced the killing of a leader in the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in a security operation carried out in northern Iraq. The security sources explained that Turkish intelligence was following Beyik's movements between the city of Sulaymaniyah and the city of Penjwin in northern Iraq, where they were able to kill her while she was in the city of Sulaymaniyah. They indicated that Turkey is carrying out operations to combat the PKK organization, which targets forces and citizens and is active in several countries in the region, including Syria, Iraq and Iran.
