Ankara: Turkish coast guard teams rescued 25 illegal migrants off the shores of the Fethiye municipality of Mugla State, southwest of the country. According to a statement from the Coast Guard Command, a rubber boat was observed off the coast of Fethiye with a group of migrants on board. The statement indicated that Coast Guard teams had rescued 25 migrants aboard the rubber boat, with migrants referred to the Migration Directorate, while two persons were arrested on charges of migrant smuggling. On Monday, the Turkish authorities announced the rescue of 71 illegal migrants in the Aegean Sea, west of the country. The Turkish authorities have consistently announced seizures of illegal migrants and rescues of refugees while trying to reach Europe, which have become almost daily. Source: Qatar News Agency
