Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Hneifat, inaugurated a training course on palm and date production techniques on Sunday. The course, organized by the International Date Council (IDC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, aims to advance the dates sector in Jordan. In his opening remarks, Hneifat emphasized the ministry's commitment to modernizing Jordan's various agricultural sectors, with a particular focus on dates. The minister also said the sector is a "key" component of the national sustainable agriculture plan, designed to boost production, manufacturing, and marketing, while improving product quality. Hneifat noted that development of the dates sector is "vital" for increasing income and farmers' living standards, enhancing sustainable agricultural practices, improving food security, and promoting environmental balance by "efficiently" using natural resources, especially water. The five-day course will see participation from Jordan Dates Association and the Dates Cooperative Associat ion, alongside experts from the International Date Council and the Ministry of Agriculture.
