Amman: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Makram Al-Qaisi met in Amman on Monday with a Kenyan delegation comprising major Kenyan travel and tourism agencies at the end of their week-long trip to the Kingdom. The meeting was held as a continuation of efforts to open new markets to supply the Jordanian tourism sector with tourists from eastern markets, especially after the decline in the number of tourists from the West as a result of the brutal aggression on Gaza, in addition to a follow-up to the minister's visit to East African countries in February, which included Kenya, Rwanda and Ethiopia. Al-Qaisi thanked the delegation for their efforts in promoting Jordanian tourism in Kenya and for holding several intensive workshops with their counterparts from the Jordanian tourism sector to contract and find effective partnerships that revitalize tourism between the two countries. In response to questions from Kenyan journalists accompanying the delegation, Al-Qaisi said that he sees a great future for tourism between the two countries, especially since we understand each other culturally and civilizationally. When asked about the security situation in Jordan, he added that he trusts the testimony of the press and the delegations that came to Jordan and saw with their own eyes what Jordan is and that he will be satisfied with this testimony.
