The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects scattered and varying thunderstorms in a number of provinces, strong winds on the eastern , southern coasts and the Socotra Archipelago, and hot weather in the desert areas and coastal plains during the next 24 hours. The center stated in its weather bulletin, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity, accompanied by hailstones at times, are expected to fall in parts of Taiz, Ibb, Al-Dhale', Sa'ada, Raymah, Al-Mahwit, Hajjah, Lahj Heights, and Abyan and Shabwa provinces. Thunderstorms also fell outside the range of monitoring stations in parts of Dhamar, Raymah, Al-Dhale' and the Lahj Heights, Abyan and Shabwa provinces. The center warned citizens against being in the depths of valleys and flood paths, against thunderstorms in mountain highlands where rain is expected, and against decreased horizontal visibility due to rainfall or water mulch. Seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains were also warned of sea turbulence and high waves around the Socotra Archipelago, the eastern Gulf of Aden, and the eastern and southern coasts. The center advised residents of deserts, plains and coasts not to be exposed to direct sunlight and to drink plenty of fluids. Source: Yemen News Agency
