Last night, thousands participated in Rome, Italy, in a solidarity march to demand an end to the genocide against Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. This march came at the invitation of the Palestinian community in Rome, the Friends of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, civil society organizations and Italian trade unions. The participants raised billboards bearing the names of slain children, and chanted slogans calling for freedom for Palestine. During her speech, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Italy, Abeer Odeh, called on the international community to intervene and bear its responsibilities seriously to stop the massacre, implement international legitimacy resolutions, and end the occupation. Secretary-general of the Italian General Confederation of Labour, Maurizio Landini, called for an end to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, and for the Italian government and the international community to intervene to implement United Nations resolutions.
