The United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, stressed on Sunday that there is no military solution that would make both Lebanon and Israel feel safer. "With the region on the brink of an imminent catastrophe, it cannot be overstated enough: there is NO military solution that will make either side safer," she said in a post on X. On Friday, the UN Security Council held a session at an Arab request, during which members warned against escalation and called for restraint.
