The World Health Organization announced today, Thursday, that it had evacuated nearly 100 patients, including dozens of children, from Gaza to the Emirates, calling for allowing the resumption of regular medical evacuations from the Strip. "This was the largest evacuation so far from Gaza since October 2023," Richard Peeperkorn, the organization's representative in the occupied Palestinian territories, told reporters, referring to the operation that took place yesterday, Wednesday. "Gaza needs medical corridors. We need a more organized and sustainable arrangement," he added, adding that more than 10,000 Gazans are waiting for medical evacuation.
