Basra: The river police detachments in Basra carried out an awareness and guidance campaign for citizens not to swim in the waters of the Shatt al-Arab and other rivers. Basra Governorate Police Command said in a statement, 'The campaign resulted in the arrest of a number of violators and handed them over to police stations to take legal measures against them.' It added that this campaign comes within the framework of the efforts of the police leadership to maintain the safety of citizens and implement laws related to public safety.
