President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed the need to pay attention to developing the capabilities of the security forces in terms of armament, training and equipment. A presidential statement stated: "President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid received today, Monday, at the Baghdad Palace, Minister of Defense Thabet Al-Abbasi, and stressed during the meeting the need to focus attention on developing the capabilities of the security forces in terms of armament, training and equipment to confront security challenges in light of the tensions witnessed by the region." The President of the Republic praised the sacrifices made by the men of the armed forces in all its formations, and his pride in the efforts made by the ministry to implement all the tasks and duties entrusted to it in various circumstances. In turn, the Minister of Defense expressed his thanks to the President for his continuous support to the ministry, which helps develop the Iraqi army in all its branches, reviewing the ministry's plans to improve the readiness of the armed forces in a way that consolidates security and stability in the country and preserves its sovereignty.
