President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed the necessity of conveying the true image of the positive developments witnessed by Iraq. A presidential statement stated: "The President met today with the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Iraqi Media Network, Thaer Al-Ghanmi, and members of the Board." The statement added: "During the meeting, the reality of the Iraqi media and ways to advance it were discussed in a way that serves the country and supports progress and stability at various levels." The President stressed the necessity of ensuring the independence of the Iraqi Media Network, stressing the importance of adhering to professional journalistic standards and what helps the network play an important role in creating a responsible national media. The President of the Republic stressed the necessity of improving the reality of the Iraqi media, especially the Iraqi Media Network, and advancing it to the global level to contribute to conveying the true image of Iraq about the posi tive developments witnessed by the country in terms of politics, security, economy, services and education, in addition to intensifying media efforts to correct misconceptions about the situation in Iraq, stressing his support for free and independent media in the country as a tool for building the state and consolidating its national constants. The President also highlighted the importance of the role of the media network in highlighting community issues and highlighting the activities of the Iraqi state in accordance with professional standards in the field of media and taking into account the provisions of the Constitution, law and protocol. The President of the Republic touched on the activities of the Presidency of the Republic and its keenness to keep its doors open to all Iraqis, noting that it has submitted many important draft laws related to the needs of citizens to the House of Representatives for approval. The President referred to the role of the Presidency of the Republic in following up on m any files, especially the file of detainees and prisoners, which resulted, through the work of the joint committees, in the release of more than (13) thousand detainees, in addition to the follow-up and interest of the Presidency of the Republic to resolve the file of the displaced and return them to their areas. For his part, Al-Ghanimi and the accompanying delegation stressed the keenness to adopt professionalism in performing their work tasks and in a way that improves the reality of Iraqi media, appreciating the directives of the President of the Republic.
