Baghdad, The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, offered condolences to the families of the victims of Al-Hartha area tragedy in Basra. Rashid said in a blog post on the X website: 'It is with great sadness and sorrow that we received the news of the painful accident in Basra Governorate, which resulted in deaths and injuries among our students as a result of a run-over accident.' He added: "We contacted the Governor of Basra to find out the developments in the painful incident, and we sent a representative of the Presidency of the Republic to the city to meet the families of the deceased and the injured." The President of the Republic called on the concerned authorities to make every effort to take the necessary measures and ensure that such an unfortunate incident is not repeated.
