Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas honored on Thursday evening the volunteers of the "Mahmoud Abbas Foundation" in appreciation of their efforts in serving our people in various places where they are present. This came during the President's reception of the Foundation's volunteers at the Presidential Headquarters in Ramallah, in the presence of the Foundation's Chairman of the Board of Directors, Marwan Awartani, and its Executive Director, Jamal Haddad. The President praised the role played by volunteers, based on their societal responsibility towards their people, regardless of their backgrounds and affiliations, stressing the importance of enhancing the spirit of volunteerism and community work among our Palestinian youth. The President also appreciated the efforts made by the Foundation to provide educational opportunities for Palestinian students in Lebanon and enable them to enter the labor market, and to support our people in refugee camps inside Palestine and in Lebanon, and to enhance their abi lity to face challenges and help them rebuild their lives. It is worth noting that the 'Student Program' implemented by the President Mahmoud Abbas Foundation has succeeded in providing university education to approximately 12,000 Palestinian students in the camps in Lebanon. The Foundation also works through the 'Palestine Program' to provide humanitarian and relief aid to affected families inside the country, especially in occupied Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip, to strengthen the steadfastness of our people on their homeland.
