The preparatory meetings for the 112th ministerial session of the Arab Economic and Social Council will start tomorrow, Sunday, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, in preparation for the council's meetings scheduled for next Thursday.
Ambassador Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector of the League of Arab States, stated, in a press statement today, that the Social Committee will hold a meeting tomorrow to discuss and prepare social files in the draft agenda of the ministerial session of the Council, noting that the committee's agenda includes seven items, including Report of the Secretary-General of the Arab League on the follow-up to the implementation of the decisions of the previous session of the Economic and Social Council.
For his part, Ambassador Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Maliki, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Economic Affairs Sector at the Arab League, said that the Economic Committee will hold a meeting the day after tomorrow, to discuss and prepare economic files in the draft agenda of the ministerial session of the Council, including economic files for the ordinary Arab summit and the Arab development summit, as it includes a clause on supporting the Palestinian economy.
A meeting of senior officials of the Economic and Social Council is scheduled to be held on the next Tuesday and Wednesday after the end of the preparatory meetings, to adopt the draft agenda of the ministerial session of the Council and the draft resolutions of the session for approval./ End
