The Popular Mobilization Authority announced, today, Monday, the implementation of a preemptive security operation north of the capital, Baghdad. The Authority stated - in a statement - that "a force from the 12th Brigade of the Popular Mobilization carried out a search and securing operation in the areas of Al-Mashahda and Albu Bahr in the Tarmiyah district, north of Baghdad, which resulted in the discovery of a number of unlicensed weapons. The statement added that "the operation comes within the preemptive security operations, in preparation for the Arbaeen visit and with the aim of preventing any infiltration or security breach, in addition to preserving the security gains in the belt of the capital, Baghdad."
