The Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee denounces the statements of Republican Representative in the US Congress, Mike Waltz, that affect the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council

Baghdad: The Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee denounced, today, Saturday, the statements of Republican Representative in the US Congress, Mike Waltz, that affect the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council. It said in a statement, "we denounce the statements of the Republican representative in the US Congress, Mike Waltz, that insult the head of the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaidan, and the committee confirms its categorical rejection of such irresponsible statements and considers them a blatant interference in Iraqi internal affairs and affecting the entity of the Iraqi state." The statement added: 'The judiciary is an independent body that represents the basic guarantee of rights and freedoms. We also warn that the repetition of such violations may affect bilateral diplomatic relations between Iraq and the United States of America in the future.' Source: National Iraqi News Agency
