The Energy Police Directorate in the Ministry of Interior announced today, Friday, that the Oil Police had seized tanks with a capacity of 130,000 liters filled with fuel of 'unknown quality' in the capital, Baghdad. A statement by the Directorate's media stated, "Based on intelligence information, a joint force from the Third Regiment and the North Baghdad Oil Police Station, affiliated with the Third Brigade, embarked on a raid and inspection of a yard used for illegal trading in petroleum derivatives in Al-Ghazaliya area, west of the capital, Baghdad." It added, "The operation resulted in the arrest of a suspect and the seizure of 3 large iron tanks of different capacities filled with an oil product of unknown quantity and quality. The statement noted that 'the accused was detained and the seized items were seized in preparation for completing the necessary legal procedures and submitting them to the competent judiciary in accordance with the Anti-Smuggling of Oil and Its Derivatives Law No. 41 of 2008 .'
