The Ministry of Interior announced, today, Sunday, that nearly three and a half million Pilgrims have entered the country to perform the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
The ministry said in a statement, “Headed by the Minister of Interior, Abd al-Amir al-Shammari, the Supreme Security Committee to secure the Arbaeen visit continues its work, with the deployment of the security units in charge of this duty in all areas and the roads that visitors take towards the holy Karbala, amid full alertness to the intelligence, security and service effort.”
The statement added that the concerned authorities have initiated procedures to facilitate the process of entry of visitors from all ports of the country, namely (Al-Mundhiriya - Zirbatiya - Al-Sheeb - Al-Shalamjah - Safwan - Mandali - Kirkuk - Al-Qaim - Baghdad Airport - Najaf Airport - Basra Airport).
He continued, that the number of incoming vehicles reached (8308), while the arrivals reached (508108) people, and thus the number of arrivals since the beginning of the visit ceremony reached (3455080) expatriates.
