The ministry stated in a statement, 'During the meeting, which was attended by the Prime Minister's Advisor for Technical Affairs, Mohamed Al-Daraji, the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Planning and Transport, and a number of general directors and heads of departments in the Ministries of Finance, Planning, Transport, Housing and Municipalities, the stages, mechanisms and costs of rehabilitating the existing railway lines were discussed.' , extending from Basra Governorate to Baghdad, and from Baghdad to the Fish Khabour port in Nineveh Governorate, with the extension of a new line from Shuaiba area to Basra Governorate.
