The Minister of Foreign Affairs meets the US Special Envoy to Yemen to discuss the situation in Yemen and the political and humanitarian challenges therein

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, met with the US Special Envoy to Yemen, Timothy A. Lenderking. A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that during the meeting, the current situation in Yemen was addressed and the humanitarian and political challenges facing the country were discussed, with a review of the effects of the ongoing conflict and its impact on the population. International and regional initiatives and efforts aimed at stopping the fighting and achieving stability were also discussed. The importance of providing urgent humanitarian assistance to the affected population was emphasized, and current humanitarian projects were reviewed, with a call on the international community to increase support. The need to continue dialogue among all parties was also emphasized, and to encourage the international community to support peace efforts in Yemen was encouraged.
