Ramallah - Ma'an - The lawyer of the Prisoners' Affairs Commission said that he was able to meet with prisoner Mohammed Qasem al-Arda (42 years old) from the town of Araba, south of Jenin, after not visiting him for more than 6 months. He is currently in Ashkelon isolation for 15 days, and was transferred between several prisons before arriving in Ashkelon isolation, namely Ramon, Eshel, and Ohli Kedar isolation. The lawyer quoted the prisoner as saying: 'The policy of inspections is still ongoing, in addition to the psychological pressures and provocations practiced against us. We suffer from a severe shortage of clothing. The food is very poor in terms of quantity and quality. I have lost about 20 kg of my weight, and all the prisoners have lost significant amounts of weight from their bodies and their bodies have become thin and sick.' Arda was arrested on 5/14/2002, and was sentenced to three life sentences, in addition to twenty additional years. On 9/6/2021, Al-Arada, along with the prisoners (Ayham Kamamji, Mahmoud Al-Arada, Munadil Anfiat, Yaqoub Qadri, and Zakaria Zubeidi), managed to seize their freedom through a tunnel in Gilboa Prison. The occupation re-arrested him and his companions a few days later, and an additional 5-year prison sentence was issued against them. Source: Maan News Agency
