The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) announced the start of the necessary preparations to run in the Kurdistan Parliament elections after the region's presidency set next October 20 as the date for conducting the process, noting that it had addressed many of the party's observations and reservations that led it to announce its non-participation in the elections earlier. The party's spokesman, Mahmoud Muhammad, said in a statement in which he addressed the masses of Kurdistan, today, 'Since 2022, our party has made unremitting efforts to take the necessary requirements to hold the elections for the sixth session of the Kurdistan Parliament before the end of the legal timings, but unfortunately many obstacles have been created and some have returned and harmed the political and legislative process in the Kurdistan region and had negative repercussions and consequences on the authorities and rights of the Kurdistan region.' He continued: "After that, we tried to refer the proposals to the elected parliament in order to address them legally, but this was also obstructed."
