Jericho - Together - The Jordanian government handed over to its Palestinian counterpart the first convoy of Jordanian aid on Monday morning, at the headquarters of the Jericho and Al-Aghwar Governorate. Dr. Hussein Hamayel, Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley, conveyed the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen, stressing the depth of Palestinian-Jordanian relations, praising the position of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the leadership of King Abdullah bin Hussein and the Jordanian people in support of the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and independence and the support provided by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to support the wheel of development. In Palestine, in addition to the Kingdom's established and historical positions on all critical issues, the most recent of which was the Kingdom's position in aborting the displacement plan based on the steadfastness and steadfastness of the Palestinian people. This came during Governor Hamayel's reception of the Ambassador of th e Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the State of Palestine, Issam Al-Badour, and the Palestinian Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Darzak Salimiyeh, in the presence of representatives of the agricultural sector and farmers from areas threatened with confiscation in Jericho and Al-Aghwar Governorate. The governor added that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has always been a true support for our Palestinian people at all stages, and that we in Palestine believe in the importance of strengthening the partnership between Palestine and Jordan in all fields. The Palestinian Minister of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Rizq Salimiya, also emphasized the efforts made by the Palestinian government to develop the agricultural sector in Palestine and enhance partnership relations between Palestine and its sister countries. Minister Salimiyeh indicated that this grant came to support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in light of the fierce attack carried out by herds of settlers on our people, restricting them, confiscating gr azing places, and preventing livestock breeders from exploiting pastoral lands in the Jordan Valley region, which increases the burden on them. He explained that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan allocated 15 thousand tons of grain to areas called C and areas threatened with confiscation by the occupation forces, as part of the efforts made to provide all types of support to farmers in those areas to enhance their steadfastness in light of the difficult circumstances that the Palestinian people are going through. The minister added that the target group was chosen according to professional standards and precise needs by the Ministry of Agriculture teams in partnership with the Wall and Settlement Resistance Authority and with civil society institutions. In turn, Jordanian Ambassador Issam Al-Badour said that this is the first convoy provided by the Jordanian government, under the directives of King Abdullah II, to help the Palestinian people, in coordination with the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture. Amb assador Al-Badour explained that the royal blessing is grain estimated at 15,000 tons and will be distributed over a period of 14 weeks and includes most of the governorates of the West Bank, benefiting 266 communities and the number of sheep 458,935 heads of sheep, as it will be distributed through the directorates of the Ministry of Agriculture.
