The Israeli army announced that in recent days a series of attacks have been carried out targeting weapons production sites and other infrastructure for "Hezbollah" throughout Lebanon. The Israeli army said in a statement today, Wednesday, that warplanes, under precise intelligence guidance from the Intelligence Authority, and over the past few days, launched a series of precise raids throughout Lebanon, targeting a number of weapons production sites and other infrastructure for "Hezbollah" in the region. The statement added that "before the raids, many steps were taken to reduce the possibility of civilian casualties, including issuing advance warnings to residents in the area," noting that "Hezbollah places its production sites and combat means in the heart of civilian areas, especially under residential buildings in the heart of Beirut, and exposes the civilian population in those areas to danger." The Israeli army concluded that "these strikes aim to strike Hezbollah's capabilities and strip it of them and its military infrastructure." On Monday, the Israeli army spokesman announced the start of a targeted and specific ground operation against Hezbollah targets in the area near the border in southern Lebanon. On Friday, the Israeli army launched violent raids on the southern suburbs of Beirut, during which Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and a number of party leaders were killed.
