Baghdad, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah, confirmed that the Kurdistan Democratic Party is a major political force in the Kurdistan political arena, adding that all political forces and parties in Baghdad realized that parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan region cannot be held without this party. Abdullah said in a statement to reporters: 'The Kurdistan parliamentary elections will take place when all political parties and forces participate in them, adding that the Kurdistan Democratic Party's comments are serious, and they concern the people of Kurdistan in general.' He continued, "We are holding discussions with the Independent High Electoral Commission in Iraq, because there are technical issues that need to be followed up and addressed. For example, depriving 400,000 Kurdish voters from all over Kurdistan from voting is a constitutional violation," indicating that there are efforts being made to implement the Kurdistan Democratic Party's demands.
