The Chairman of the Integrity Commission holds meetings with a number of heads of regulatory bodies in Arab countries

Baghdad, The President of the Federal Integrity Commission held several meetings with the heads of the regulatory bodies in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Morocco participating in the fifth session of the Conference of States Parties to the Arab Convention against Corruption. During the meetings held on the sidelines of the fifth session of the Conference of States Parties to the Arab Convention against Corruption, Judge Haider Hanoun stressed the necessity of guarding and monitoring public money from the greed of the corrupt, warning of the danger of the scourge of corruption on security, the economy, investment and development, and its cause of widespread unemployment, poverty and a low level of corruption of health care. Hanoun pointed to the Iraqi state's policy of consolidating relations with Arab countries in various fields, noting the support and cooperation of those countries for Iraq in its quest to curb corruption, recover smuggled funds, and extradite wanted per sons, noting that combating corruption requires a joint Arab effort through law enforcement agencies in Arab countries.. For his part, Major General Amr Adel, Head of the Administrative Oversight Authority in the Arab Republic of Egypt, praised during the meeting the Iraqi proposal presented by Judge Haider Hanoun, Head of the Federal Integrity Commission, which included establishing the Council of Heads of Arab Law Enforcement Agencies concerned with Integrity and Anti-Corruption, noting that it contributes to Enhancing cooperation and exchanging information to recover smuggled assets and extradite wanted persons. While the head of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority in the State of Qatar (Hamad bin Nasser Al-Misnad) expressed his optimism in developing the relationship between the Iraqi and Qatari sides in all fields, expressing the desire to learn about the Iraqi experience and benefit from it in combating corruption, especially in the preventive aspect of it, and especially the conflic t of corruption interests, confirming the imminent conclusion of a memorandum of understanding with the Iraqi Integrity Commission, of which he confirmed the final touches to its draft. While (Mohamed Bashir Al-Rashidi), head of the National Commission for Integrity and Prevention in the Kingdom of Morocco, stressed the importance of strategies to identify corruption phenomena and its risks and find effective solutions to them, noting that the strategies contribute to raising levels of integrity and reducing levels of corruption in public and private sector institutions.
