The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, welcomed today, Friday, the opinion issued by the International Court of Justice regarding the illegality of the ongoing Zionist occupation of the Palestinian territories. Aboul Gheit said in his blog post on the X platform: 'I very much welcome the opinion issued by the International Court of Justice today regarding the illegality of the ongoing Zionist occupation of the Palestinian territories for 57 years.' He added, "Although the ruling seems logical and natural to all supporters of the Palestinian cause, it represents an important legal pillar on the way to establishing the Palestinian narrative and giving it the legitimacy and legal credibility it needs in light of the occupying power's continued efforts to confuse the nature and origin of the conflict with the aim of tightening its grip on the occupied Palestinian Territory."
