A symposium was held in Sana'a on the role of Yemeni women in construction, development and strengthening resilience, organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in cooperation with the Women's Protection Sub-Cluster. The symposium, with the participation of academics, activists and media professionals from various government agencies and civil society organizations, included working papers, the first of which was presented by the Director General of Women and Children at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Saba Ahmed Ali Talha, the role of Yemeni women as a partner in construction and development, their role in building the family, and the importance of empowering women in various fields. The aspects are in addition to the role of women in Islamic society. While the second paper, presented by the Deputy Dean of the College of Arts and Head of the Department of Social Service at Sana'a University, Dr. Sakina Ahmed Hashem, reviewed the role of women in preparing, creating, and raising gener ations, their contribution to achieving sustainable development, and the importance of empowering women as an important and effective element in developing and building educated, advanced, and prosperous societies. The third paper, presented by the Director of Women and Children at the Supreme Council for the Administration and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Amat al-Malik al-Khashab, touched on mechanisms for building the capabilities of Yemeni women towards enhancing steadfastness and their role in facing the consequences of aggression and siege, as well as the status of women in Islam. The symposium came up with recommendations that stressed the need for relevant authorities in the state, government, and civil society organizations to cooperate, listen to women's issues, and find alternatives to the problems and difficulties they face. The recommendations called for supporting and encouraging women and refining their skills in various fields within the framework of the state and government's effor ts to activate the role of women in construction and development. They stressed the importance of enhancing women's participation in public life and continuing to qualify them in a way that contributes to benefiting from their capabilities and enabling them to fully exercise their role in society.
