The Swiss government announced that the high-level summit on peace for Ukraine will be held in Bern on June 15 and 16. The government added that conditions are ripe to hold a summit to kick start the peace process, indicating that the first step will be to develop a common understanding among participant countries regarding the path forward, towards a comprehensive and just peace in Ukraine. In January of this year, Swiss Confederation President Viola Amherd had announced her country's approval of a request made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for a high-level peace conference to be organized in Switzerland.
