Amman: Director General of National Electric Power Company (NEPCO), Amjad Rawashdeh, said preparations were completed to organize "CIGRE Jordan " conference under the theme: "Sustainable Electrical Networks and Digitization towards the Future," which will be held on June 26 and 27. Rawashdeh, who is Chairman of Jordan CIGRE National Committee (JCNC), noted the conference, which will be held under the auspices of Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Khasawneh with Arab and international participation, is a "true" opportunity to discuss the challenges facing electrical systems locally and regionally. Rawashdeh noted the event is scheduled to go over requirements for the sustainability of electrical energy systems and assess opportunities to benefit from digital development. In a press statement Thursday, he stated that the participants will discuss more than 50 "innovative" research papers presented by the participating experts and engineers. Rawashdeh said discussions are "important" to bridge the stakeholders' gaps in the electric energy field, exchange expertise and tackle the sector's challenges to achieve common interests. Regarding CIGRE Jordan, Rawashdeh said its "successes were made, thanks to concerted efforts among its affiliated companies, institutions and universities." Additionally, he referred to its steps to keep pace with activities to serve interests of public and private sector institutions concerned with the electric energy sector and contribute to achieve sustainable development and CIGRE International's goals.
