Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares announced Friday that his country will protest the decision taken by the Israeli occupation authority to prevent the Spanish Consulate in Jerusalem from providing services to the Palestinians in the West Bank. The Spanish government will analyze this decision to figure out whether it will be literally implemented and submit the protest accordingly, Albares added. For his part, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell castigated the Israeli occupations decision to ban the Spanish Consulate in Jerusalem from providing services to the Palestinians, deemed it as bad news. In an interview with the official Spanish TV following the Israeli decision, Borrell said the move came in a response to Spain's decision to recognize the State of Palestine starting from May 28.
