Spain Reaffirms Commitment to Gaza Ceasefire and Palestinian Justice

Madrid: Spanish Foreign Minister Jos© Manuel Albares reaffirmed his country's unwavering commitment to advocating for an end to military aggression in Gaza, underscoring the imperative of upholding justice and safeguarding the dignity of Palestinian civilians.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, during his meeting with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide on Sunday, Albares emphasized that Spain is not attempting to lecture any nation but believes that recognizing a Palestinian state is essential for peace in the region. He highlighted the international community's duty to uphold human values and dignity, even within Europe.

Albares noted that his government is considering the possibility of imposing punitive measures on Israel, stressing the need to ensure the smooth and unhindered entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.

The Norwegian Foreign Minister stressed the importance of sustained diplomatic efforts to garner broad international support for an independent Palestinian state, asserting that the international community must strengthen its commitment to the rights of the Palestinian people.
