Special Operation Force Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX) Monday launched the second edition of the financial technology exhibition and conference FunCon Go 2024 in Amman. The Governor of the Central Bank (CBJ) Adel Sharkas said the financial sector in Jordan is preparing for "radical" transformations, adding that promoting digital transformation and the digital economy and making Jordan a leading regional centre and investment destination for financial technology is part of Jordan's economic modernisation efforts. Sharkas said, "Digital transformation has become a contemporary global trend and an inevitable, imposed reality, and our meeting today, under the slogan 'Opening Smart Blocks with New Untrodden Financial and Banking Paths' is nothing but an ideal opportunity for everyone to communicate and cooperate to enable financial technology, exchange ideas, and explore visions." The assistant for planning, organisation and defence resources said: "Our vision in FanCon Joe embodies wise directives from the leader of our journey, His Majesty King Abdullah II, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, a sublime vision that always guides us towards progress and prosperity. "I welcome you all to this distinguished event, which brings together the elite Experts and those interested in financial technology and banking. "We are pleased to witness this distinguished gathering of brilliant minds and people with great ambitions, which embodies our shared vision for a better future through our presence together today."
