Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Samir Baja'alah met on Monday with Deputy Representative of the World Food Program (WFP) Simon Ho Lima. The meeting, which included Deputy Minister Ibrahim al-Hamli, focused on resuming WFP activities after a two-year hiatus. It discussed plans to distribute approximately one million food baskets targeting the most food-insecure groups across 221 districts. Minister Baja'alah emphasized the program's critical role in addressing Yemen's severe humanitarian crisis caused by ongoing conflict and siege. He highlighted the need for collaborative efforts to implement policies and programs aimed at improving livelihoods and providing food support to as many people as possible. The Minister also expressed readiness to facilitate humanitarian work and the activities of the WFP. In response, Simon Ho Lima underscored the WFP's commitment to resuming and expanding its operations while seeking necessary funding to assist the most vulnerable populations in Yemen.
