Cairo: Slovenia Tuesday criticized the Israeli occupation's decision to block humanitarian aid into the war-torn Gaza Strip, according to the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. 'Slovenia is gravely concerned about the decision to completely block humanitarian aid access to Gaza. This could lead to a humanitarian catastrophe, severely affecting the civilian population already suffering from the conflict,' the Ministry said in a press statement.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Ministry emphasized that such actions are in violation of international law, particularly international humanitarian law and human rights law. Slovenia stressed the importance of allowing humanitarian organizations safe and unhindered access to the people of Gaza, who are in urgent need of assistance.
The statement reiterated Slovenia's support for all diplomatic efforts to achieve a permanent ceasefire, which would enable the release of all hostages and the start of Gaza's reconstruction. It also highlighted the importance of maintaining the ceasefire agreement and honoring all three agreed phases, which would help alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and ensure the release of hostages.
