Since October 7, Israeli occupation forces have bombed 172 shelters and schools, impacting tens of thousands of displaced Palestinians and resulting in hundreds of deaths. The Gaza government's media office reported today that the death toll among those killed inside schools housing the displaced has exceeded 1,040. Some of these schools are government-run, while others are managed by UNRWA. The statement emphasized that the occupation forces are primarily targeting displaced civilians in schools and shelters, as well as in areas claimed to be "safe." This strategy, according to the statement, is aimed at deliberately maximizing civilian casualties, especially amidst the destruction of the health system, hospitals being set ablaze and rendered nonfunctional, and the immense strain on medical teams due to the lack of equipment and supplies in the remaining operational facilities. Earlier today, the Israeli occupation forces bombed two schools housing displaced individuals in Gaza City, killing 30 people and injuring dozens more. This continues the pattern of targeting centers and schools sheltering displaced people and civilian gathering areas previously declared safe by the occupation, which had forced residents to relocate there. The massacres persist across various areas of the Gaza Strip, with the ground operation in Gaza City targeting numerous neighborhoods, displacing thousands of residents and exacerbating the crisis due to the shortage of safe shelters for the displaced families. The Israeli occupation has been conducting a comprehensive war of extermination in the Gaza Strip for nearly ten months, resulting in tens of thousands of deaths, injuries, and disappearances, predominantly among children and women. This has also led to the displacement of about two million people, massive destruction of health and educational infrastructure, and a severe shortage of food, water, medicine, and fuel, culminating in a famine that has claimed the lives of numerous children.
