RAMALLAH: The head of the caretaker government Mohammad Shtayyeh said on Monday that the crime of genocide, ethnic cleansing, and the war of starvation continues against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, in the form of killing, starvation, displacement, and oppression, claiming hundreds of lives every day, most of them women and children. Shtayyeh added in a speech at the beginning of the caretaker government meeting today that the Israeli crime is revealed daily with more horrific images of what the occupation soldiers are committing, adding that the starvation is severely intensifying, which is not treated only by dropping meals, some of which fall into the sea, and others turn into a tool to kill the hungry due to mistakes in landing. He pointed out that the easiest solution for the hungry is to stop crime first, and deliver aid through the crossings and ports under the supervision of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Refugees. If the goal is to provide aid, there are five crossings that reach Gaza, through which aid can be delivered within hours, instead of waiting for three days at sea. . Shtayyeh called on the International Red Cross to visit male and female Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons, indicating that the brutality taking place in those prisons requires urgent intervention to stop it, and to curb the tendency of revenge that the prison guards carry out with abuse and torture. He said that the holy month of Ramadan comes this year, while Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip are starving and bleeding due to the genocide crimes that continue unabated, calling on the International Court of Justice to intervene to stop these crimes. Shtayyeh renewed his demand for the Israeli government to release the withheld clearance funds, which amounted to more than a billion dollars. Source: Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA
